Competence

I was intrigued by an editorial in EPE (http://www.epemag3.com/) . He states that; none of our current bunch of 'leaders' have any technological skills. No scientists , no physicists, chemists, in fact no one that would have any appreciation of the practical world we now live in. Not it's pitfalls, nor  it's true potential... On an other blog, last year, it was noted than at  the memorial service at the Cenotaph on Remembrance Day, not one of our 'leaders' had any medals. None. Zip. Not even a Blue Peter badge.

And you wonder why we appear to be led by clueless lackwits?

  1. Yes Tony and neither have they shouldered a hod of bricks, dug a ditch or stood for hours on a factory production line. Science and technology is fine, but it doesn't produce many jobs, I strongly believe Britain has to get building, 'literally' Roads, Houses, factories, infrastructure.....it has a huge knock on effect to suppliers and contractors, providing many jobs the private sector has to be encouraged to do this.I think it was Alec Salmond 'not my favourite politician' who said that before every recession recovery, the building trade had kicked in first. Then people will have money in their pockets to spend, cutting back all the time has not worked, people have to budget, they don't spend and that has the result of stagnation, no growth in the economy.
